John Summers:
John was a partner for some 10 years at City firm DJ Freeman. He founded Summers Solicitors LLP in 1995. John is unusual as a central london lawyer in the sheer breadth of his experience which enables him to offer advice in differing areas of his expertise. He advises on all aspects of commercial property, and on all aspects of landlord and tenant work. He advises on the purchase and leasing of property, and on refinancing arrangements. He also has an extensive litigation practice. He advises clients on claims in both the High Court (including the Technology and Construction Court), the County Court, and in the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal. John is a keen supporter of the mediation process and has been involved in a number of mediations.

He has particular expertise in a wide variety of property related disputes. John is also an expert in the area of collective enfranchisement and lease extensions. He has advised clients in numerous claims since the 1993 legislation came into force. He has particular expertise in dealing with claims against central london estate landlords, where he is familiar with their requirements, and the surveyors and lawyers that they employ, and the basis on which they operate. He is always able to advise on suitable surveyors to assist in valuations.

John is a member of The Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners.

Harold Shupak:
Harold Shupak joined Summers Solicitors LLP in 2011 after having practised for many years in the City of London. He is an international business lawyer, focussing on corporate, employment and litigation cases. His corporate practice encompasses both transactional work, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and reorganisations and advice on commercial contracts and intellectual property.

In the field of employment law he advises both employers and employees, and has acted for many executives in the financial services sector. His litigation practice covers contractual claims, shareholder disputes and employment and intellectual property litigation. He has advised clients in complex mediations. Much of his work has an international element, both in relation to advisory work and litigation, and he is well used to advising either UK or foreign businesses on matters of English Law in connection with cross-border transactions or disputes. Harold has lectured on corporate and commercial law topics throughout the world at conferences of the International Bar Association, of whose Committee on International Sales and Related Commercial Transactions he served as Co-Chair for four years, having previously been Chair of its Sub-Committee on Standard Terms and Conditions of Sale. As well as being a member of the International Bar Association for over 30 years, he is a longstanding member of the Society for Computers and Law.

Martin Frankum:
Martin has been with the firm since 1997 and became a partner in May 1999. Martin has a wealth of experience advising clients on all residential and commercial property issues, company and commercial matters and all aspects of litigation. Martin has a diverse range of clients from first time buyers of residential property through to plc companies, solicitors and accountants, small businesses, recruitment consultants and high net worth individuals.

Stephen Koehne:
Stephen was for many years a real estate partner at D.J. Freeman, and for some nine years was a real estate partner at City firm Stephenson Harwood. He specialises in real estate investment and development, with extensive experience of acting for both UK and overseas properties. He also acts for developers on large development schemes from their initial involvement, and in the letting and sale, acting for both landlords and tenants for all types of commercial premises. He brings in depth experience to the firm in all these areas.
Brian Fraiman:
Brian joined Summers Solicitors LLP in 2006 after many years at Fremont & Co, a well established West End practice which he founded and where he was senior partner. He provides advice on all private client matters including the preparation of wills, the administration of estates and all relevant tax issues and the establishment of trusts. He also has a wealth of experience in property and commercial matters including Landlord & Tenant issues.

Philip Hooley:
Philip Hooley is a highly experienced commercial dispute lawyer who has practiced at an impressive set of firms over the course of his career, including top tier international firms including Herbert Smith (now Herbert Smith Freehills) and Clyde and Co. Philip advises on a wide range of commercial disputes covering financial services and regulatory matters, insolvency, professional negligence, insurance/re-insurance, complex IT and energy projects and international and jurisdictional disputes.
